The Painting is about an Artist who is on the downward slope of his career. He was once a popular and successful painter but is now finding it difficult to sell his work. Even the Art Dealer that has been selling his work for years no longer wants to feature him in his gallery.
However, he is working on a new piece that is different than anything he has made before. The Dealer sees this work-in-progress and thinks there is a potential buyer for this unfinished painting. Unfortunately, the Artist is out of paint, and out of money to buy more. At the end of his rope, he decides to use his most dangerous resource: his own blood.
Once he starts using his sanguine paint, his world starts to unravel around him, blurring the lines between reality and delusion.
