How To Request An Accommodation

For any questions about how we may best accommodate your accessibility needs, please email accessibility@denverfilm.org.

To submit an accommodation request, you may:

Call the Sie FilmCenter box office at 720-381-0813; and/or: 

Visit the Sie FilmCenter box office at 2510 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80206 during box office hours (which open 30 minutes prior to the day’s first screening).

 

Venue Accessibility

All regular screening venues offer accessible entrances, exits, bathrooms, water fountains, and elevator/ramp access to theaters and receptions:

The following venues offer accessible parking options:

Sie FilmCenter: There are three van-accessible spots in the parking garage serving the Sie FilmCenter (entrance on Columbine St. between E 14th Ave and E Colfax Ave). There is one van-accessible spot in the surface lot behind the Tattered Cover (entrance on Elizabeth St. between E 14th Ave and E Colfax Ave.) and 2 additional accessible-marked spots.

Ellie Caulkins Opera House: There are a significant number of accessible parking spaces on each level of the attached garage serving the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

Denver Botanic Gardens: Accessible parking is located in the Gardens’ parking structure and is available on a first-come first-served basis.

MCA Denver – Holiday Theater: Parking will be available in the North High School parking lot, located at 2761 W 32nd Ave between Elliot St and Clay St. It is a 2 minute walk from the parking lot entrance to The Holiday Theater. There are (6) accessible spots in this lot, but we recommend anyone with a walker park closer to 32nd Ave. There are curb cuts at the intersection of 32nd Ave & Clay St. Additionally, there is 1 handicapped parking spot directly in front of the theater. 

 

Screening Accessibility

To request accessible seating at any regular screening venue (including wheelchair accessible spaces, wheelchair accessible spaces beside transfer seats, and companion seats), please email accessibility@denverfilm.org or call/visit the Sie FilmCenter box office and confirm the specific screening date, time, and venue for which you are making the request.

 

To request limited mobility assistance (including an aisle seat with limited stairs to entrance/exit, extra time for seating, and seating assistance in low light), please email accessibility@denverfilm.org or call/visit the Sie FilmCenter box office and confirm the specific screening date, time, and venue for which you are making the request.

 

To request a complimentary companion ticket for a personal attendant, aide, or caretaker, please email accessibility@denverfilm.org or call/visit the Sie FilmCenter box office and confirm the specific screening date, time, and venue for which you are making the request. Companion tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, must be pre-reserved, and can only be issued alongside the purchase of a standalone event ticket.

 

To pre-reserve an assistive listening device (ALD) at any regular screening venue, please email accessibility@denverfilm.org or call/visit the Sie FilmCenter box office and confirm the specific screening date, time, and venue for which you are making the request. ALDs will be available at all regular screening venues on a first-come, first-serve basis, and require a photo ID or driver’s license to reserve.

 

ASL interpretation will be available upon request with up to (5) days advance notice. To request ASL interpretation, please email accessibility@denverfilm.org or call/visit the Sie FilmCenter box office and confirm the specific screening date, time, and venue for which you are making the request. For any request, we will also ensure there will be seating in a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) section, for unimpaired visual access to ASL interpretation. 

 

Live non-English language translation will be available upon request with up to (5) days advance notice. To request live non-English language translation, please email accessibility@denverfilm.org or call/visit the Sie FilmCenter box office and confirm the specific screening date, time, and venue for which you are making the request.

 

Event Accessibility

All regular screening venues will have fidget spinners available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The following venues will have additional sensory tools, including SPARK bags, available to patrons:

Denver Botanic Gardens

To request that the introducer, moderator, or panelists of any event provide visual descriptions, please email accessibility@denverfilm.org or call/visit the Sie FilmCenter box office and confirm the specific screening date, time, and venue for which you are making the request.

To request more information about the content of a screening, including featured subjects or unique vocabulary, please email accessibility@denverfilm.org or call/visit the Sie FilmCenter box office and confirm the specific screening date, time, and venue for which you are making the request.

 

All catered receptions will have allergen menus on hand, to identify the presence of the nine major allergens: milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and sesame.
