Production & Events Intern


Classification: Seasonal/Part-Time (End of May through End of August)

Salary Range: $3,000

Location: Sie FilmCenter – 2510 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206, and on location as needed

Reporting Structure: Reports to Producer and Events Specialist


Position Summary: 

Denver Film is seeking a part-time, seasonal Production & Events Intern. This position will be responsible for assisting the Producer & Events Specialist in the logistics and execution of special events during the summer of 2025. Summer 2025 programs include but are not limited to the Women+Film Festival, Film on the Rocks, Black Pride Colorado Cookout, CinemaQ Film Festival, and Summer Scream. This position will assist onsite in coordinating event volunteers, catering, and overall run of show for special events, as well as assist in talent management, operations, and otherwise. The Production & Events Intern reports to the Producer and Events Specialist. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who is able to interact in an effective, tactful, and professional manner with the community, members, donors, board members, staff, volunteers, and sponsors. They must have the ability to deliver outstanding customer service and be able to build productive, successful relationships with clients and vendors, among others.


About Denver Film:

The first Denver International Film Festival was successfully launched in May 1978. Three years later, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Denver Film Society was created to expand opportunities to bring films to Denver that otherwise might not be shown and to celebrate and cultivate film as an art form.  Over the years the organization has grown into one the largest and most respected cultural institutions in the Rocky Mountain region. In 2019, the organization rebranded to Denver Film to build a more inclusive organization. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to other duties as assigned, this position will be responsible for the following:

Special Events

  • • Supporting on-site event logistics such as set-up and strike
  • • Assisting with event planning, including, without limitation, venue research and vendor selection
  • • Communicating effectively with the Producer and Events Specialist throughout the planning and execution process of events
  • • Attending venue site visits
  • • Coordinating volunteer event needs and on-site volunteer management

Production

  • • Helping manage mini-festival database and run of show documents
  • • Giving status updates to staff regarding summer programs at bi-weekly meetings
  • • Making sure project plan timelines are being followed and due dates are being met
  • • Learning the process for calling live events (“calling the show”) and completing at least one event where you call
  • • Scheduling and attending inter-departmental meetings for events and festivals
  • • Performing additional duties as assigned.

  • • Availability for all of the following events:
    • • Women+Film Luncheon: May 30, 2025
    • • Women+Film Festival: May 30 through June 1, 2025
    • • Film on the Rocks: June 9, June 23, June 30, July 7 and August 18, 2025
    • • Black Pride Cookout: June 17, 2025
    • • Pride Festival booth: June 28th or June 29th
    • • CinemaQ Film Festival: August 8 through 10, 2025
    • • Summer Scream: August 21, 2025
  • • Reliable access to transportation and a current, valid driver’s license
  • • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • • Able to climb up and down stairs; able to climb up and down ladders; able to kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and carry; able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds., including up and down stairs
