Denver Film Festival Theater Manager


Classification: Part Time – Seasonal

Salary Range: $23.00 per hour

Location: Sie FilmCenter – 2510 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206 and on location as needed

Reporting Structure: Reports to Operations Director


Position Summary: 

The Theatre Manager will oversee line management, the start of Festival films, and the organization of volunteers daily. The Theatre Manager’s responsibilities are significant in supporting the needs of all guests and ensuring the best possible experience at each venue.


About Denver Film:

The first Denver International Film Festival was successfully launched in May 1978. Three years later, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Denver Film Society was created to expand opportunities to bring films to Denver that otherwise might not be shown, and to celebrate and cultivate film as an art form. Over the years the organization has grown into one the largest and most respected cultural institutions in the Rocky Mountain region. In 2019, the organization rebranded to Denver Film to build a more inclusive organization. This effort continues as we focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across our wide array of year-round programs including Colorado Dragon Boat Film Festival, Women+Film Festival, CinemaQ Film Festival, CineLatinx Film Festival, Film on the Rocks, the Denver Film Festival, and other programming. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to other duties as assigned, this position will be responsible for the following:

  • • Wrangling holdout lines of ticket holders for each theatre
  • • Overseeing volunteers and coordinating job positions for each shift
  • • Making sure reserved seats are in place before seating
  • • Communicating with the projection team and film introducer to ensure an on-time start for each festival film
  • • Managing the Q&A’s post-screenings to ensure they run on time
  • • Overseeing the theater turnover and the cleaning of each theatre
  • • Providing superb customer service
  • • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Special Requirements:

  • • Reliable access to transportation
  • • Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • • Able to climb up and down stairs; able to climb up and down ladders; able to kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, reach and carry; able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including up and down stairs
