Denver Film Events & Partnerships Intern

Location: Sie FilmCenter – 2510 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206, and occasional remote work

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Denver Film Senior Manager of Events &   Partnerships and Senior Partnerships Manager 


Overview: 

Denver Film is seeking a part-time, seasonal Events & Partnerships Intern. This position will be responsible in assisting the Senior Manager of Events & Partnerships and the Senior Partnerships Manager with the implementation of sponsor activations and special events during summer 2023. Summer 2023 programs include, but are not limited to, Film on the Rocks, Black Pride Block Party, CinemaQ Film Festival, and Summer Scream. This position will assist onsite in coordinating event staff, catering, and overall run of show for special events, as well as assist in fulfilling sponsor contracts through onsite activations, pre-receptions, and otherwise. The Events & Partnerships Intern reports to the Senior Manager of Events & Partnerships and the Senior Partnerships Manager and works in collaboration with full-time and seasonal Denver Film staff. 


About Denver Film:

The first Denver International Film Festival was successfully launched in May 1978. Three years later, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Denver Film Society was created to expand opportunities to bring films to Denver that otherwise might not be shown, and to celebrate and cultivate film as an art form.  Over the years the organization has grown into one the largest and most respected cultural institutions in the Rocky Mountain region. In 2019, the organization rebranded to Denver Film in an effort to build a more inclusive organization. This effort continues as we focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across our wide-array of year-round programs including Colorado Dragon Boat Film Festival, Women+Film Festival, CinemaQ Film Festival, CineLatinx Film Festival, Film on the Rocks, and the Denver Film Festival. What You’ll Do:

This is an entry-level position that reports to the Manager of Events & Partnerships and the Partnerships Manager and works closely with the Marketing and Partnerships team. 

 

Special Events

  • Provide input on matters relating to event operations for special events
  • Coordinate volunteer event needs
  • Communicate issues relating to the successful execution of special events
  • Communicate effectively with Senior Manager of Events & Partnerships throughout planning and implementation process of events
  • Attend venue site visits with Senior Manager of Events & Partnerships

 

Activations

  • Coordinate logistics for on-site activities with Senior Manager of Events & Partnerships and Senior Partnerships Manager for corporate partners as determined by corporate sponsorship agreement
  • Oversee sponsorship fulfillment activities to support Denver Film summer events
  • Relay any pertinent information throughout course of activations to Senior Manager of Events & Partnerships and Senior Partnerships Manager

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who is able to interact in an effective, tactful, and professional manner with the community, members, donors, board members, staff, volunteers, and sponsors. They must have the ability to deliver outstanding customer service, and be able to build a productive, successful relationship with clients, sponsors, and other outside vendors. The successful candidate must have advanced writing skills and demonstrated excellence in organizational and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail, including critical thinking and analytical ability are a must. The candidate will need to be comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Expertise in computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel will ensure a candidate’s success. A reliable car, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance are needed for this role as well.
