THE VALUE OF VOLUNTEERING
Join the 400-plus volunteers who lend their time and energy to the Denver Film Society each year, working to enrich Colorado’s cultural landscape and the lives of its citizens via cinematic programming—and get an exciting glimpse behind the scenes while you’re at it.
Year-round, the DFS seeks volunteers to employ their skills at the Sie FilmCenter—whether they’re engaging with the public as ticket-takers or docents or helping our office staff with a variety of administrative tasks. Annual events like the Starz Denver Film Festival require even more assistance in areas ranging from customer service and hospitality to transportation and outreach.
To become a Volunteer for the Denver Film Society you need to join our Denver Film Society Scheduling system.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE
iNTERNSHIP #YFW1
Assistant to teachers for Young Filmmakers Workshops
The
Denver Film Society is pleased to offer a limited number of unpaid internships
in the summer Young Filmmaker Workshops (YFW). These unpaid internships are for
people who have finished their freshman or sophomore year in college. Preference will be given to alumni of the YFW program and those studying film,
media and/or communications.
The
intern will assist in teaching the Young Filmmakers Workshop, two-week
intensive filmmaking workshops for teens. There are three levels of workshop
(Intro, Masters and Masters 2). Interns may help in any or all levels. Interns
will be supervised and trained by Master Instructor, Scott Kinnamon, founder of
the YFW. These 2-week workshops meet for 6 hours each day (9a-3p). The tentative dates for the workshops are to
begin around June 10th and end around August 9th.
Interns
will work with other teachers in assisting students in the conception, writing,
directing, editing and scoring of short films. The Workshop places an emphasis
on storytelling and utilizing digital media to accomplish deep narrative.
Internships
may lead to opportunities to become an Assistant Teacher or Teacher in the
program in the future, both of which are paid contract positions.
If you are interested in applying for this internship, please write for an application to:
